Winter 2011- Belmonte Builders' own Michele Brown made a huge contribution to the Professional Women in Building of Northeastern New York (PWBNENY) by helping raise nearly $6000.00 toward the 2010 elections this year. This bypassed their original goal of $2,000.00:
"...The goals of PWBNEMY include a strong commitment to making a difference for women in the trades and in the community, and to be actively involved in the political process, especially as it deals with bills directly affecting residential construction. The New York State Builders Association requested that CRBRA/BRANNY work toward raising $2,000.00 to be used toward the 2010 elections with the hope of restoring balance to New York State government. The newly formed PWBNENY legislative committee, chaired by Michele Brown, controller of Belmonte Builders in Clifton Park, took on the challenge and raised nearly $6,000.00! The committee meets regularly and has plans to continue to add value to the council by monitoring legislative issues on a local, state and national level. It plans to meet with elected officials on a regular basis to ensure that the voice of PWBNENY is being heard, and to motivate others to join the cause by seeing that they can truly make a difference."
